Goals of the seminar

The goal of the conference was to contribute to a better understanding of educational policies and structures in the old and new member states in order to ensure co-ordinated interaction between education systems and actors in the enlarged European Union. Dissemination of knowledge about and experiences with the current shape of EU and Member State policy in the field of education will help to strengthen the impact of EU instruments for the purpose of constant improvement of education including school, university, long distance learning etc.

In particular, the conference aimed at the following:

  • Rising the educational awareness in the EU member states
  • Improving the quality and effectiveness of education in the enlarged EU
  • Ensure the exchange of experiences of actors in the educational systems on the background of political, economic and social circumstances in each country
  • Reinforce and enlarge existing co-operation

The main target groups of the conference were members of school or university administration, members of ministries of education, representatives of professional and industrial associations and those of private educational organisations from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania and Germany.
